When is it touch up time?

Ok, I’ll do a short answer and long answer. Short answer for the ones that want a quick read. A longer answer for one’s that would like to understand a little about the “why” and color theory!

Short answer…

  • It’s touch up time if…..
  • If you are pulling your brow pencil more frequently to fill in your brows
  • You notice the fronts have faded out (this area fades out faster)
  • You notice a new gap or two
  • You notice that the strokes have cooled/have a cooler tone to them

Now, the fun part! The long answer!!!

To understand the long answers you have to understand a little bit of the science behind our ink. While the industry has come along way, our Inks still tend to fade out 2 different directions

Option number 1, the brows fade out faster and warm/turn orange/red. If you or anyone you know is walking around with this color of eyebrow, it’s generally not anything the client or artist has done wrong! This is just how this particular ink fades out and it’s time for their touch up! This ink fades out quicker over the years, has less healed retention, and is a little bit more forgiving. Perfect for beginning artists or clients that don’t want to commit to a brow style for many many years. This ink is also great for clients looking for a more “bold/darker” look! This type of ink is inorganic ink, and most of my clients do NOT have this type of fade out

Option number 2.  The brows fade out slower, but cooler. If you notice your brows have shifted to a cooler tone, this is natural! This particular ink has a higher retention rate (great healed results after 6-8 weeks) lasts longer, but will cool as it ages. This type of ink is organic ink! This is the ink I’ve used for the past 5 years

We can prevent faster fading out by something cheap and easy! Sunscreen!!!!

Nonetheless, your body and sun exposure was slowly break down and eat away ink/pigment particles. Touchups will be required if you want to keep your balls looking fresh!

Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk 😂
